Middle & High School T.O.R.C.H.

Sundays from 6:00 - 8:00 pm

All youth in middle school and high school are welcome to be a part of Commerce UMC's T.O.R.C.H. ministry.  T.O.R.C.H. stands for Taking Our Relationship with Christ Higher.  Everything we do as a part of our T.O.R.C.H. ministry is aimed to grow youth in their relationship with Jesus Christ in terms of Christian fellowship, discipleship, worship, service and evangelism.

Middle and High School Sunday School

Sundays from 10:00 - 10:50 am, September - May

Topics vary from week to week and are open-discussion based.  Our classes dive deep to provide practical application of the Bible into the young people's everyday lives.

Confirmation Class

Meets Every Other Week,

September - April

Confirmation:  "The act by which persons who were baptized as infants or young children (or, because of other special circumstances, could not take the baptismal vows themselves) make their first public statement of their declaration or profession of faith.  In this sense they confirm their faith.  Confirmation is performed in preparation for reception into full membership in The United Methodist Church."

We encourage all students who are at least middle school age (6th or 7th grade) to participate in confirmation class.  Students will learn the basic teachings of Christianity as well as the specifics of Methodism.  Students will also learn how they can be a life long participant in their local church.  Confirmation class usually meets bi-weekly from September through April, culminating in a special service where each student can choose to become a full member of the church.
