Highlights from Kids on a Mission:

We have been so blessed this year to have two wonderful moms – Kati Brush and Michelle Aimone – who have taken on the task of bringing Mission projects to our children. So far this school year, we’ve made a craft with grandparents, participated in Coin Wars, put together more than 50 boxes for Operation Christmas Child and went Christmas caroling. The first Coin War was a big hit with the kids – they donated about $220.00! That enabled us to help 2 families through World Vision, buying 1 goat, 5 chickens, and 2 ducks, along with 2 bibles in that family’s translation! The winners of the first Coin Wars was 1st/ 2nd grade and Junior High and they will have their doughnut parties on this Sunday, January 11.

This year, the Kids on a Mission started another Coin War in January and went through May with a total collection of $200.00. The donations will go toward Northern Lights, which provides one-on-one support of homeless and orphaned children in Uganda. The winning classes for this year are the 3&4 graders and the Sr High School. Congrats Kids and great job!

Also, to go with Faith Flight lessons, “Feeding the 5,000”, the entire church is collecting non-perishable items such as, canned and boxed good and paper products. Collection boxes will be upstairs, in Fellowship Hall and in Mustard Seeds. The items will be taken weekly to Hospitality House, but a tally will be kept in the Narthex. We encourage you to look for items to donate with your kids. Maybe donate some of their favorite foods!

We have lots of fun and helpful mission projects coming up. If you have ideas or an organization you like to support, please contact Kati Brush, Michelle Aimone or Jody Rauhut.

Thanks and God bless!
